Hyderabad: Government to set goals for Collectors today
Hyderabad: The day-long Collectors' conference to be held on Tuesday assumes high importance as the government wants to unveil its priorities and targets that the Collectors will have to achieve during this year.
The Government is learnt to have listed a thorough discussion on the new administrative measures it proposes to implement this year which would put greater responsibilities on the Collectors.
According to sources, the meeting is set to discuss plethora of issues mainly the outcome of the recently launched Palle Pragathi programme and the challenges faced in the implementation of welfare and developmental schemes launched by the government.
The proposal to launch the 'Pattana Pragathi' programme will also be discussed in the meeting. It may be mentioned here that all the district collectors were instructed to submit the status report of the schemes under implementation and come prepared with an action plan to improve living conditions in the districts by upgrading educational, health and other civic amenities.
Senior officials - Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Government Advisors and a few Ministers will also take part in the conference.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will explain in detail about the reasons for abolishing joint collectors' posts and creating additional collectors' posts, the Revenue Act that needs to be implemented and various measures that need to be taken to improve revenue generation in the state.
