Hyderabad: Grand Kalyanotsavam of Bramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy held at Beeramguda hillock

Patancheru: A grand 'kalyanotsavam' of Bramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy of Beeramguda hillock was conducted on Saturday with a lakh of devotees joining the celebrations as part of the two-day Sivaratri festival. Pandits performed the celestial wedding of Goddess Parvati and Parameshwara amid chantings by the devotees. The idols of the deities were placed on a platform before the kalyanam in the presence of a large number of visitors.

Former chairman of the temple Enugu Tulasi Reddy, along with his spouse, offered 'pushthe mettelu' to the deities. The temple committee conducted 'maha annadanam'. Among those present at the event were Municipal Chairman Tummala Panduranga Reddy, Vice-chairman Narsimha Goud, the councilors, leaders and temple archakas.
