Hyderabad: GSITI scientists clarify queries of students

Hayathnagar: Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI), Hyderabad, has conducted interactive classroom session for the students and teachers of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institution Society (TMREIS) at Girls School Campus on Saturday, as part of 'Bhuvisamvad' programme. 'Bhuvisamvad' is a platform to promote interaction among the GSI professionals and students. The objective of the interactive sessions was to sensitise and create awareness about the Geosciences and its applications in day to day life, as well as opportunities in geosciences for career building.

The faculty from GSI Training Institute Harish Mistry, a senior geologist, and Dr S Bangaru Babu, a senior geophysicist, visited the school and interacted with the students and teachers. They demonstrated various types of rocks, minerals and fossils and also discussed about the applications of Physical Sciences, activities of Geological Survey of India and opportunities with geosciences.

Pavithra, vice-principal of the Hayathnagar Girls School, TMREIS, other teachers and students appreciated the GSITI for their efforts for the welfare of students under BHUVISAMVAD scheme. Further, they expressed their happiness about the interaction with the faculty of GSITI.
