Hyderabad: Haj volunteers draw of lots today

Nampally: Telangana State Haj Committee chairman Mohammed Masiullah Khan, Executive Officer B Shafiullah and Member of Central Haj Committee (Mumbai) Dr Firoza Bano conducted an interview with assessment of physical and mental fitness for the selection of Khadim-ul-Hujjaj at Haj House in Nampally on Wednesday. A draw of lots would be held on Thursday.

Masiullah Khan said that the selection of the Khadim-ul-Hujjaj (Haj Volunteers) would be made on the basis of an interview and draw of lots. He informed that the draw of lots to select the Khadim-ul-Hujjaj would be conducted from among the candidates declared eligible in the interview on March 4.

The volunteers are selected in the ratio of 200:1 to guide and help the Haj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia as and when required. The draw of lots will be held on March 5 at 3 pm in Haj House in the presence of media persons. Assistant Executive Officer Irfan Shareef said that a total 263 applications were received for Khadim-ul-Hujjaj category of which 159 applicants were eligible for the interview. Members of TS Haj Committee Md Abdul Shafi, Corporator (Rahmath Nagar), Abu Talha Amjad, Md Arifuddin, M A Khader (Siddipet) and others were among those present.
