Hyderabad: Hayathnagar records 3 cm rainfall

Hayathnagar: Rain occurred at isolated places over Telangana during the last 24 hours, ending at 8.30 am on Friday, with Hayathnagar in Ranga Reddy district, among others, recording three cm of rainfall. There was one cm rain each in Hyderabad Airport, Saroornagar and Rajendranagar (both in Ranga Reddy district).

The Met department bulletin has warned of thunderstorms with lightning very likely to occur on March 21 at isolated places in Medchal-Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Medak, Ranga Reddy and nine other districts.

The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places from March 21 to 24. No large change during the period March 25-27 is the weather outlook.

Meanwhile, the bulletin said the highest day temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bhadrachalam.

The lowest night temperature of 19.6 degrees Celsius was registered in Hakimpet.

The other day temperatures registered in the State were: Mahbubnagar (37.7), Adilabad (37.3), Ramagundam (36.6), Khammam (36.4), Hyderabad (36), Nizamabad (36), Dundigal (35.6), Hanamkonda (35), Hakimpet & Nalgonda (34.8) each and Medak (34.7).

The other night temperatures recorded in telangana were: Nalgonda (20), Adilabad (20.2), Hyderabad (20.3), Dundigal (20.7), Medak (20.8), Hanamkonda (21), Nizamabad (22.1), Ramagundam (21.8), Khammam (23.20, Mahbubnagar (24.2) and Bhadrachalam (24.5).

According to the bulletin, the rain is attributed to the persisting cyclonic circulation over west Vidarbha and its neighbourhood, the wind discontinuity running from north interior Karnataka to south Tamil Nadu across south interior Karnataka and the trough from the cyclonic circulation over west Vidarbha to interior Odisha across south Chhattisgarh.
