Hyderabad: HC terms government's act 'unlawful' in seizing actor Prabhas property

The High Court of Telangana on Tuesday termed the government's act unlawful in seizing the actor Prabhas's property located at Pan Muktha in Raidurgam on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The HC offered some relief to the actor by asking the state government to reconsider his plea to regularise 2083 square yards of land. However, the court refused to hand over the guesthouse of the actor.

A division bench comprising Justice V Ramasubramanian and Justice P Keshava Rao asked the government to consider his petition within eight weeks. Further, it directed the government to introduce a scheme to protect the interests of genuine buyers by collecting a fee.

Actor Prabhas filed a petition in December 2018 after the revenue officials seized his guest house and land. Prabhas is learned to have bought the land in 2005.
