Hyderabad HC upset over dengue deaths, seeks explanation from govt

The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday dealt with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by doctor Aruna who stated the government is not taking any measures to bring awareness among people on the spread of dengue fever.

Chief Justice RS Chauhan was upset with the report submitted by the advocate general which included the number of dengue cases and measures being taken by the government.

"The government has not taken any acceptable measures like putting on posters and flexes to bring awareness on dengue," said the court expressing dissatisfaction over the functioning of government.

Further, the court directed the officials of the respective department to appear before the court and sought an explanation. It also called on the chief secretary SK Joshi and officials from the health department at 10.30 am tomorrow.
