Hyderabad: HMWSSB takes over sewerage upkeep in Rajendranagar
Rajendranagar: As part of a change of guard, the GHMC Rajendranagar has finally handed over the supervision of sewerage system to HMWS&SB. Both the officials of GHMC as well as HMWS&SB Division no 16, Rajendranagar on Sunday sat together at the latter's office at Budvel where transition process of upkeeping of sewerage system was completed in the presence of MLA Rajendranagar T Prakash Goud. A total of 8 vehicles including 3 big Airtech's and 5 mini Airtech machines along with maps identifying the manholes and lanes were handed over to Water Board officials.
HMWS&SB General Manager K Prabhakar Rao, DGM Jameel Altaf Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, EE, GHMC Engineering Wing, Anjaiah besides Assistant Engineers, Deputy Engineers, sanitary inspectors of GHMC and all the managers of HMWS&SB were present at the occasion.
Though the maintenance of sewerage was relinquished by the GHMC, but according to the terms of transition of upkeeping process, their officials would continue to assist the HMWS&SB for the next three month to ensure the operations would run smoothly till the new management gets used to the new system.
GHMC Rajendranagar circle no 11 is one among 12 municipalities that were selected for transfer of sewerage system, through a GO issued on December 31, 2019.
