Hyderabad: Homeguard thrashed for clicking photo of motorist riding without helmet

A homeguard has been thrashed by a motorist after his photo was clicked by the former for riding without helmet.

According to CI Sivashankar Rao, the homeguard B Srinivas posted at Chikkadpally traffic police station took the photo of a motorist Nihal (23), a resident of Ramkoti for riding without helmet at Ashok Nagar crossroads.

Nihal along with his friend was going to Ashok Nagar from RTC crossroads. On learning that the homeguard took their bike photo, Nihal approached Srinivas and picked up an argument and later thrashed him.

Srinivas complained to Chikkadpalli police who reached the spot and took Nihal into custody. The police found that Nihal and his friends were in inebriated state. They were booked under section 332, 323 of IPC.

The police also said that they will register a case against Nihal for riding without helmet.
