Hyderabad: Hour-long night protests remind Shaheen Bagh

Rajendranagar : Close on the heels of Shaheen Bagh, an 'hour-long night halt protest' against CAA-NPR-NRC was being organised daily at dairy farm cross road (Pillar No211 of PVNR Expressway), here from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm by the residents of surrounding colonies for about a week.

Residents from different colonies are descending there every night to raise the voice against the controversial law. Holding national flags along with placards and banner in their hands, the protesters from different age groups are making a beeline on a sideway of a road at Pillar No 211 daily and registering their protest in silence against the promulgation of the controversial laws.

"People across the nation are not hitting the roads for the heck of it. They are concerned about the future of the country and the sanctum and sanctorum of the democracy which is at stake after the promulgation of NRC and CAA. The BJP government at the centre is trying to divide the nation on communal lines," said a protester.

Realising that any violation will create inconveniency to the users, the protesters were seen confining themselves to a wayside to register their protest in peaceful manner. The protesters to make a point that imposition of such laws unilaterally would not only harm the democratic framework of the country but plunges the nation into economic doom.

"Despite the national outcry against the anti people laws, the government is moving ahead unilaterally with the implementation dividing the people on religious lines. We took to streets against the unilateral imposition of these laws not just because they are subversive and directed towards Muslim community but also harm the other communities one after another pushing them out of the ambit of a democratic frame work of the country," said, a women protester, who does not want to be identified.
