Hyderabad: The sleuths of CCS, LB Nagar, along with Adibatla police on Wednesday arrested a house burglar and recovered 16.5 tulas of gold and 1.6 kgs of silver from his possession, all worth Rs 7,40,000. The accused was identified as Vamshi (23).

According to the CCS police, the accused is an old offender and started committing thefts since he was 13 years and has multiple cases registered against him. He was however released in December 2019. The accused after coming out of jail, did not mend his ways and with the same modus operandi, he started operating again. His modus operandi was that, he used to hide the stolen property in soil by digging pits near MGBS. Whenever he needed money, he would remove the articles and sell them directly to individuals rather than selling at shops as he was afraid of getting arrested, said Inspector D Praveen Babu.

He noted, "The accused would recee the localities during daytime and would strike in the night. However, upon receiving a tip-off about his next intention, we formed a special team and nabbed him." The accused was arrested under section 457, 380 of IPC.
