Hyderabad: HSPA demands publication of committee report

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA) said it is keen to know the final recommendations made by Prof Tirupathi Rao Committee on fee regulation in private schools.

It said the State High Court directing the State government to submit by Wednesday the action taken report (ATR) on the report of Prof Tirupathi Rao Committee.

The HSPA said on Tuesday the government was siding with the management of private schools and turning a deaf ear to the woes of the parents.

"We have for long been looking up to the High Court for the resolution of the issue which affected each and every parent. We are quite hopeful that the long delay notwithstanding, we will not be let down and the courts will give a clear directive to the State government to regulate school fees in an effective and time-bound manner."

It may be mentioned here that the cases relating to the regulation of school fees came up for hearing on Tuesday before a bench comprising of Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice A. Abhishek Reddy.

Taking note of the seriousness of the issue involved, the CJ directed the Advocate General to present before it, by tomorrow itself, the ATR on the recommendations submitted by Prof. Tirupathi Rao Committee.

The counsels for both HSPA and the school managements and also the Advocate General concurred that the ATR on Prof Tirupathi Rao Committee report could be a good way to move forward and towards an amicable resolution of the issue.

Following this, the full report of recommendations of Prof Tirupathi Rao Committee made in June 2018 which are kept so far under wraps will be out.

Also, "We get to see what action, if any, has the government taken, or proposes to take, on these recommendations, the HSPA said in its statement.
