Hyderabad: Illicit liquor bottles seized in Karwan

Karwan: The Kulsumpura police seized 58 illicit liquor bottles during cordon & search operations conducted in Kargil Nagar area on Wednesday night.

According to police officials, in the operation under Kulsumpura Police Station limits a total of 169 cops, including one Additional DCP, two ACPs, 6 Circle Inspectors, 24 Sub-Inspectors & ASIs, 85 constables, 16 policewomen, 35 Home Guards took part. This was supervised by AR Srinivas, Joint Commissioner of Police. "In this operation six search teams, three cut-off parties moved in Kargil Nagar area and conducted search, besides participation of four lifting parties and one holding party," said officials.

A total of 176 houses were checked, documents of 149 two-wheelers were checked and 36 vehicles were seized. The vehicles were brought to police station for not possessing valid documents. After verifying the documents, all the vehicles will be handed over to the owners of the vehicles.

During the operation, the police also seized illicit liquor from one Modam Krishna Goud, (64). The seized bottles include three bottles of United Gold each one litre, 9 Imperial Blue each 180 ML, 19 Officers Choice each 180 ML, one bottler of Officers Choice 1000 ML, 17 Gold Day prestige whisky each 180 ML, 7 Down Town whisky each 180 ML, two bottles of MC Dowell's .

The Cordon Search operation started at 6 pm and concluded by 8 pm.
