In turn, the police have inquired with the officials of the Hyderabad DIEO.

Following this, members of the BIE high power committee along with the Task Force police conducted a joint operation at the examination centre located in the New Madian Junior College.

The DIEO said it was found that eight students were allocated a separate room in the examination centre for writing their examination.

"We have thought that the last day of the examination of the second year chemistry and commerce papers are going peacefully.

However, it was found during the joint operation that the invigilators were found filling the OMR sheets of the students," she said.

West Zone, DCP, AR Srinivas said that the West Zone Task Force has received a tip-off about the students resorting to malpractice at the college.

"The college management agreed to help the students by charging Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 for each paper. In turn, answers are written by the invigilators on behalf of the students," said the police.

Jaya Prada Bai said that criminal cases were filed against the college management, principal and invigilators and the police have taken into custody the invigilators for further investigations. Further, the issue has been reported to the TSBIE.

According to the TSBIE sources, except the lone incident, the final and last day of the Intermediate examinations have been completed peacefully.

Regarding the mass copying incident in the New Madina Junior College, the TSBIE will initiate further action and serve a notice to the college management before taking final action.

The TSBIE can cancel the affiliation to the junior college in such incidents where even the management and principal and faculty were found encouraging malpractices, said a senior TSBIE official.
