Already party leaders Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, A Revanth Reddy and Damodar Raja Narasimha have submitted their candidature to incharge general secretary. Entry of Jagga Reddy into the race as a serious contender for the PCC chief post has turned the competition as an interesting one.

Sources in the party said that Khuntia has collected the opinions of the party leaders on the candidature of all these leaders and he would submit his report to AICC.

The sources said that though the AICC was not in a hurry to replace Uttam, it has been seeking opinions of the State leaders so that they could take a decision when time arrives.

On the other hand, party leaders said that Uttam Kumar Reddy has been trying to continue his grip on the State party and Jagga Reddy's name has been proposed with a strategy in mind. If the AICC initiates the process to replace him, he would throw his weight behind Jagga Reddy.

Jagga Reddy recently said that Uttam was like a head of the family and all the leaders of the party have to support his leadership. This makes it clear that the MLA wants to be a supporter of Uttam. If the AICC wants to replace Uttam, it would be offered with the names of leaders who are strong loyalists of him.

If the loyalist is given the PCC chief post, Uttam would come back as PCC president by the time of next Assembly polls.

Jagga Reddy told media that he would meet AICC leaders after Sivarathri festival and would submit his candidature. He said that the high command was not in a hurry to replace Uttam. But if it wants to install a new president he would be serious contender.

He said that he has the 'medicine' to bring back Congress into power and if he is made PCC chief, he would work to bring back the past glory of the party. He said that the party has to work tactically to secure power.
