Journalist Manoj Yadav dies due to Covid-19

Hyderabad: Covid-19 claimed the life of the first journalist from Telangana. Manoj Yadav (33) a crime reporter working with TV 5 news channel died of the deadly virus on Sunday.

According to Gandhi hospital Superintendent Dr Raja Rao, Manoj, who hails from Hyderabad, was admitted on June 4 after being referred as Covid positive from Fever hospital. He was in ICU from the beginning as oxygen saturation levels were not maintained.

But on Sunday morning, he had cardiac arrest and he was resuscitated but could not be revived and declared dead at 9:37 am, the Superintendent said.

Manoj is already suffering from Myasthenia gravis, in which all the muscles will have weakness including respiratory muscles . For this he had surgery also (his thymus gland was removed), and he is on steroids for that condition.

With these comorbidities, he became Covid positive and had bilateral pneumonia with type 1 respiratory failure and ARDS, the doctors said.

MB Krishna Yadav, Om Prakash Yadav and Venkat Yadav from Telangana Yadav Officials and Professionals Association expressed their condolence on the unexpected demise of the young journalist. Krishna Yadav said that Yadav got married just an year ago and his death was a big loss to his family and also to the journalist fraternity.
