Hyderabad: Kamatipura police arrest 5 persons for raping a minor
Hyderabad: The Kamatipura police on Wednesday arrested five persons for allegedly raping a minor girl aged about 17 years.
According to the city police, out of the five arrested persons, two are major and the other three are minors, aged 17, 17 and 14 years, who will be tried in juvenile court. The two major accused were identified as Md Shafeeq (A1) and Md Saif (A2).
B Anjaiah, the ACP of Charminar, said that one of the juvenile accused befriended the victim girl one year ago when they were classmates. One day, when the victim girl was returning home after tuition, the accused juvenile took her to a nearby graveyard that was isolated and raped her.
The ACP said, "As the girl was afraid to reveal about the incident to her family, the juvenile accused took advantage of the situation and informed about the incident to his other juvenile friends (A1 and A2), who then took benefit of her innocence and raped her multiple times at different places whenever she would return home from tuition."
After few days, the A2 knew that the victim girl has a sister aged 14 and he befriended her. Later, he told the 14-year-old girl that her sister was raped and she will also be raped, if she did not cooperate with him and started blackmailing her.
Out of fear, the minor girl (14 years) also became a victim.
However, the incident came to light, when the parents of the girls found that their elder daughter was pregnant and upon further questioning, she revealed the details, explained the officer.
After receiving a complaint from the parents, both the accused, who are majors, and three juveniles aged were arrested under section 376D, 376DA of IPC and section 5 r/w 6 of POCSO Act, 2012 and were remanded to judicial custody. The minors will be sent to juvenile justice home.
