Hyderabad: 'Karachalanam vaddu, namaste muddu', an awareness programme held in Hafeezpet

Hafeezpet: Responding to a call by Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, social activists Muppa Subbayya and Vasili Chandrasekhar Prasad on Wednesday conducted an awareness programme in Triveni educational institution on Coronavirus and banning plastic items. The MLA distributed jute bags to students as part of the Swachh Hyderabad drive.

Addressing the gatherings, Gandhi stated that he had given the call for protecting the environment keeping in view the interests of future generations. He complimented the social activists who take up programmes with a spirit of service.

Gandhi called upon people to join the drive to ban plastic, to keep their surroundings clean and to take up tree plantation as duty, while reminding them about the adverse effects of a polluted atmosphere because of the use of plastic items, including ailments. "These can pose a threat to the very existence of mankind," he noted.

Referring to the coronavirus, the Government Whip stated that people should move forward with the slogan of 'Karachalanam Vaddu, Namasthe Muddu'( no handshakes, namasthe better). He advocated the use of Homeo medicine 'Arsenicam Albam 30' for effectively tackling the virus.

Gandhi appealed for public participation in government works, citing the example of the social service being taken up by Subbayya and Chandrasekhar, and for developing the Serilingampally constituency.

Among those present were Triveni institutions group chairman Veerender Chowdary, Hafeezpet TRS division president Gouthm Goud, Madhapur division chief Erlagudla Srinivas Yadav, party activists Narendra Prasad, K V Prasad Rao, Vidya Venkateswar Reddy, Chenna Reddy, Subramanyam, Visveswar Rao, Srinivas Reddy.
