Hyderabad: Keesara Brahmotsavaam draws over 5 lakh devotees
Medchal-Malkajgiri: Additional District Collector Vidyasagar on Monday thanked people's representatives and officials for making the Keesara Brahmotsavam in Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy temple a grand success.
Addressing the concluding session of the Brahmotsavam, he stated that more than five lakh devotees had visited the shrine, more than the visitors the previous year. For the first time, the State government had sanctioned Rs 30 lakh for the event, he said, adding that the media had played an important role in ensuring a large number of devotees participated in the event from February 19 to 24. Vidyasagar stated that 1,600 students from 54 schools participated in cultural programmes organised during the Brahmotsavam.
The Additional Collector presented prizes and commendation letters to students, representatives of youth organisations, and those who presented commendable programmes during the Brahmotsavam, besides the district officials, temple's founder trustees, archakas.
Those present at the prize distribution function were DRO Madhukar Reddy, Temple Committee Chairman Srinivas Sarma, ZP Chairman Besta Venkatesh, Keesara Sarpanch Madhuri, ZPTC/ MPTC members, MPPs, sarpanches and temple EO Sudhakar Reddy.
