Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday made a surprise inspection of various ongoing works in the city and gave instructions to the officials.

After concluding the meeting with the newly elected DCCB, DCMS chairmen and vice chairmen, KT Rama Rao reached Road No 45 at Jubilee Hills and inspected the works pertaining to suspension bridge on Durgam Cheruvu. The minister inspected the works by walking through the flyover from Road No 45 to Inorbit Mall and gave instructions to the officials.

The minister inspected under construction flyover at Road No 45 and Cable Bridge works. He spoke to the Transco officials and directed them to speed up the works like power lines, new towers and suggested them to have coordination.

The officials informed the minister of shifting of power lines within two weeks. The L&T engineers informed the minister that works related to the bridge were getting completed.

The minister asked the officials to concentrate on beautification, lighting, footpath and other works since the construction of bridge was completed.

"If the Durgam Cheruvu Bridge gets completed, the traffic congestion at western side of Hyderabad would be decreasing to a great extent and the cable bridge, which is being constructed with international standards would bring recognition to Hyderabad," said KTR.

Later, the minister directed the city mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar to inspect the Railway Under Bridge works at Hitec City. The mayor said that this bridge would provide relief to the residents of Kukatpally from the traffic problem.

The mayor asked the contract agency to complete the pending works in a speedy manner.
