Hyderabad: KVVPS asks Centre to file a review petition in Malkajgiri
Malkajgiri: The committee against caste discrimination, Kula Vivaksha Vyathireka Porata Sangham (KVVPS), on Sunday expressed anguish over the Supreme Court ruling on SC, ST appointments, promotions and reservations. It demanded that the Centre file a review petition.
The Committee president Kadigalla Bhaskar and general secretary T Babu told the media that Dr. B R Ambedkar had advocated reservations and promotions to SCs, STs as long as poverty prevailed and that these sections were still being subjected to increasing attacks, sexual harassment, murders and social boycotts.
They pointed that as per reports and surveys, it was clear that SCs and STs were not getting important posts because of the failures of the state governments. Keeping these things in view, it was painful that the apex court, instead of protect their interests, gave such a ruling, the leaders stated while accusing the government of propagating 'Manuvad' ideology suppressing the weaker sections.
The leaders said that injustice was being meted out on SCs, STs due to the SC orders. They demanded that the states issue guidelines on the issues listed in the order. they wanted the SC, ST appointments, promotions and reservations to be incorporated as constitutional rights, while asking the weaker sections to hold statewide protests against the SC ruling.
