Hyderabad: LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy appointed MRDC chairman

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to fill up the much-awaited nominated posts by the TRS leaders as the LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy was appointed as the Chairman of Musi Riverfront Development Corporation (MRDC) on Saturday.

The TRS leaders have been waiting for the nominated posts and the party leadership had assured them of the posts after the municipal elections. According to the sources, party leadership had assured to give priority to the 'Udyamakarulu' when the posts are given.

Sudheer Reddy was promised the MRDC chief post long back. Earlier, Prem Singh Rathore was the Chairman for this Corporation. Sudheer Reddy, who won from Congress ticket, had joined TRS along with the batch of 12 other MLAs. Chief Minister signed the orders pertaining to appointment of Sudheer Reddy as the chairman on Saturday.

He will be in this post, which will be a cabinet rank, for a period of three years. During the YS Rajasekhara Reddy government in undivided Andhra Pradesh, Sudheer Reddy was chairman of the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA).

According to party sources, there are several other leaders in line to get the nominated posts. Sources said that the chief minister has assured to give second term for Loka Bhuma Reddy as the Chairman of Dairy Development Corporation.

The chief minister has given the post of Rythu Samanvaya Samithi to senior leader Palla Rajeshwar Reddy recently.

Party leaders said that leaders like Bajireddy Goverdhan, Padma Devender Reddy, Rekha Naik, and others are in line to get the posts in the coming days. Party leaders said that Bajireddy Goverdhan was eying for the post of Samanvaya Samithi but it was given to Rajeshwar Reddy. Similarly, Padma Devender Reddy is also waiting for a post.

Sources said that she did not show interest when her name was doing rounds for deputy speaker again.

Party leaders said that the leaders like former minister Naini Narasimha Reddy, former Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, Kadiyam Srihari were also waiting for the nominated posts and it would be the chief minister to decide when to give the post.
