Hyderabad: Lockdown relaxations; Car showrooms get green signal
Hyderabad: With just a day to go before the national lockdown is scheduled to end, the Telangana government on Friday announced some more relaxations stating that coronavirus in the state was active only in four zones of Hyderabad. More relaxations will be announced after the Centre comes up with new guidelines on Saturday.
According to the CMO, automobile showrooms, automobile spare part shops and electronic shops selling air-conditioners will open from Saturday. A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the existing lockdown guidelines in Telangana will continue till May 29. He directed the officials to ensure that they should continue the efforts to contain coronavirus and at the same time ensure that there was no outbreak of seasonal diseases.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to maintain lockdown strictly in the containment zones in LB Nagar, where the positive cases are being reported regularly. He also told the officials to ensure strict enforcement of safety norms in Yadadri Bhongir district, where the migrant workers are infected and undergoing treatment in Hyderabad. KCR asked the officials to monitor the health status of people who returned from other states and foreign countries.
In view of threat of outbreak of seasonal diseases, KCR suggested several measures, including cleaning of all areas with disinfectants, fogging and ensure the maintenance of hygiene in all urban and rural areas.
He wanted all the people's representatives, including ministers, MLAs and local body representatives, to take part actively in the drive to check the spread of seasonal diseases in the ensuing monsoon season. The officials were also asked to open 45 new Basti Hospitals n addition to the existing 123 hospitals in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister instructed the Finance department to ensure no dearth of funds to all Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies in the monsoon season. The meeting also decided to launch Harithahaaram from June 20 in the state.
