Hyderabad: Malkajgiri reports five more coronavirus cases
Days after a barber tested positive in Malkajgiri's Hanumanpet, another five fresh cases reported from Neredmet which include three from defence colony, one each from JJ Nagar and Old Malkajgiri.
All five have been shifted to various government hospitals in Hyderabad. While the family members of these patients have been put under quarantine, efforts are underway to trace the primary contacts of the victims. Coronavirus cases under GHMC limits have been witnessing a spike with the preventive measures like wearing a mask and physical distancing going for a toss.
In the past 10 days, around 1,053 people had been infected with the virus in Greater Hyderabad. Other districts in the state have also witnessed a steady rise in the cases after the government lifted the lockdown.
Even the number of fatalities has been on the rise in the state. With the eight new deaths on Wednesday, the death toll went up to 156.
