Hyderabad Metro Creates A record of Commuting 3.80 Lakh Passengers
Metro Rail is creating new record wherein it has commuted 3.80 lakh passengers on Monday thus breaking the previous record of 3.75 lakh commuters. Monday's congestion reached 3.80 lakh. In the wake of the RTC strike, the majority of people are opting for metro travelling. On the other hand, the Metro rails officials had increased the metro trains. Metro trains are crowded on multiple routes from 6 am to 11.30 pm.
HMR MD NVS Reddy said the congestion at LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, MGBS, Nampally, Ameerpet and Miyapur stations on the LB Nagar-Miyapur route had increased exponentially.
"Nagol, Uppal, Tarnaka, Mettuguda, Secunderabad, Begumpet and High-tech stations on the Nagol-Hi-Tech city route are overflowing with a record number of passengers," he said.
On Monday, the number of entry and exit passengers was doubled compared to regular days at the respective stations. Separate ticket counters and additional staff have been set up at the respective stations for the convenience of passengers. The officials are running trains for every three to five minutes on the crowded routes.
