Hyderabad metro witnesses huge rush due to rains
Heavy rainfall and traffic gridlock ensued the people to take a metro ride to escape from traffic and reach the destination on time.
With the arrival of the monsoon rains, traffic woes have been increased and the people are finding ways to escape from getting stuck in traffic which in turn increased the rush at the metro stations.
On Friday, the metro patronage touched to 2.89 lakh due to the heavy rain, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) reported. The HMRL has beaten its own record within two weeks as the metro patronage on June 7 was recorded 2.78 lakh.
Meanwhile, the HMRL deployed additional trains to meet the passengers rush. "Around 15,000 new passengers have taken the ride on Friday," said HMRL managing director NVS Reddy.
