Hyderabad: Stating that only Rs 2.5 lakh crore can be spent from the package of Rs 20 lakh crore announced by the Centre, Government Whip Karne Prabhakar on Tuesday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was functioning like a money lender. Addressing a press conference here, Prabhakar said that the Prime Minister was ruling the country like a businessman.

"During the crisis time, the Chief Minister wanted the Union government to provide money to the people through helicopter money... even the economists also argued for this. Not only common people but also the BJP leaders did not understand the package announced by Prime Minister Modi," said Prabhakar. The expenditure would not be more than Rs 2.5 Lakh crore in the Rs 20 lakh crore package, he said.

The TRS leader ridiculed the outburst of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He asked the Union Minister to clear his stand on the free power to farmers. "We will oppose the feudal policies of Modi government.

We will fight against the electricity bill along with the MPs of other States in Parliament. The TRS does not want anti-poor reforms," said the TRS leader. He criticised the BJP leader for alleging that the TRS was doing vote bank

politics.
