Hyderabad: My Cab Is Safe drive begins today
• A QR coded UV printed board, QR Coded front sticker & back sticker will be placedto visible to the passengers sitting in the vehicle.
• This registration will be valid for a period of one year or till the validity of documents whichever is earlier and on expiry, they have to apply for renewal.
• Hired vehicles that violate these rules would be liable for action under the Hyderabad City Police Act and the relevant provision of the IPC and M.V Act.
Hyderabad: Around 85, 745 motor cabs and 27,234 maxi cabs which have been registered and plying in police jurisdiction of the city. Some of them have no adequate documents and also many incidents have been reported in this regard.
In order to address this issue, Hyderabad Traffic Police has come with an initiative to label cabs as secure. Cabs with proper documents and track record can register 'My Cab Is Safe' in Hyderabad limits. The registration commences from Friday at Traffic Training Institute in Begumpet. Anil Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Traffic, said "Registration of cabs would help to track the cab in case of any exigency and gives a sense of security to passengers. This initiative is taken up in Rachakonda and Cyberabad limits."
