 Residents say roads dug up three months ago for the drainage works are not restored

• They also complain over mosquito menace and lack of streetlights in their colonies

• MLA assures local issues such as inundation, drainage and streetlights would be resolved shortly

Malkajgiri: Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, the local MLA, undertook padayatra in East Anandbagh division, along with the local corporator Akula Narsing Rao and government officials, on Tuesday. He visited Vasanthapuri Colony, Durga Nagar and other areas as part of the padayatra.

During his visit to Durga Nagar, residents of the colony complained that they were facing inconvenience due to delay in completion of underground drainage works. They said that roads were dug three months ago for the drainage works and were causing severe inconvenience to them. They also complained over the mosquito menace and lack of streetlights in their colonies. Responding to their complaints, the MLA assured that the local issues such as inundation, drainage and streetlights would be resolved shortly on priority basis.

He said that measures were being taken to find permanent solutions to the issues facing by locals. He instructed the officials to expedite the ongoing drainage works. He urged locals to meet him or the local corporator in case of any issue.

Later, the MLA also inspected the ongoing RUB works, along with the local corporators Jagadish Goud, Akula Narsinga Rao and government officials EE Chander Singh, DE Ravinder, JE Mani Babu. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that RUB works would be completed shortly.
