Hyderabad: National Institute of Nutrition to take up survey for Covid-19

Hyderabad: National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) which has done community based district sero-surveillance in three districts-Nalgonda, Kamareddy and Jangaon, as per ICMR's directions, will be taking up a similar survey on Saturday and Sunday in Hyderabad. Five containment areas-Adibatla, Balapur, Tappachabutra, Miyapur and Chandanagar have been selected to undertake this survey.

These areas were declared containtment zones 15 days ago and hence were selected as scientists said the new zones declared few days ago are not suitable as antibodies development takes place after two weeks.

100 samples of people aged above 18 years from each area will be selected and serum separated samples will be sent to Chennai for assessment and analysis. The results are likely to come in a week's time.

ICMR is taking up this survey in 13 hot spot cities in the country including Hyderabad.
