Hyderabad: Netizens take a dig at DGCA circular
Hyderabad: Netizens took to Twitter taking a dig at the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issuing a circular on the precationary steps need to be taken for the safety of the crew members of the international flights.
Adhil Saleem pointed out that the DGCA fresh Covid-19 circular has come after one day of the Centre suspending the international flights for one week from March 22.
Stressing to work as a team in the times of crisis, Anubhab Naskar asked DGCA personnel to come on board and perform audits like the flight crew performing their dduties daily.
"It is easy to circulate regualtions following work from home," tweeting with a hashtag #whyshouldindianairlinehaveallthefun.
In its circular the DGCA said that the crew members of the international flights landing at Indian airports have to fill the self-declaration forms. These are similar to passengers. Also, the crew need to present a self-declaration form to the health authorities and celar the helath screening at the respective airports.
Further, if a crew arives in India, with symptoms, the crew has to declare the same to the Airport Helath Officials (APHO) and follow the isolation protocols as directed by the APHO.
Besides, during their stay in India, "if the crew develops any signs or symptoms of Covid-19 they should immediately inform APHO for isolation and testing."
The airlines of the crew are directed to take responsibillity of monitoring the health of the crew members during their stay in India.
In case of "a laboratory positive case of Covid-19 is found in a flight, then, the entire crew has to be de-rostered for minimum of 14 days, the crew need to follow home-isolation during the time at theirown country," it said.
Thanking the DGCA for the circular which had come a day after supension of the international flights, Anshika Jain Kur highlighted "the AC and ventilation system of an Aircraft works on recirculation principal and aircraft has only three washrooms.
Even if one infected person travels, there are chances of getting whole passengers and complete aircraft operation team being infected."
For Chinmayee Das, the suspension of flights posed a different problem. She asked the DGCA and the aviation authorites to speak to the airline companies on the issue refund of tickets.
Because, "they are not respondng and the refund amount when cancelled the flight tickets showing a deduction of 20 per cent cancellation fee," she said.
