Hyderabad: NGO gesture to poor people at Kukatpally
Kukatpally: With people facing threat of Coronavirus and also having to put up with shortage of essential commodities like vegetables with shops remaining closed on account of the continuing lockdown ordered by the State government until March 31, Hyderabad-based Akanksha Welfare Society has come forward to distribute food items, as the poor have been finding it difficult to get them.
Representatives of the society distributed rice and other items like 'pulihora' and water packets for the benefit of about 300 persons at several places in KPHB Colony. The representatives of organisation who took part in the service were Rajeswari, Venkat Reddy, Lakshman, Srinu, Mahesh and Madhav.
Society president Rama Rao urged other similar organisations to take up such service activities. Rao stated that the society has been regularly distributing fruits to patients and senior citizens.
