Hyderabad: Over 100 girl students beaten up for washing hair after Holi
Around 120 girls were beaten up by their school principal for washing hair after played Holi on Tuesday. It is learned that the girls who are staying at Kasturba Gandhi girls' hostel in Khila Shapur were instructed not to wash hair due to shortage of water.
However, the girls who played Holi on Wednesday washed their hair disobeying the principal. On learning it, Principal Sumalatha beat the girls on their knuckles with a cane. The girls complained to their parents who staged a protest in front of the school demanding action against her.
Achyuth Rao, president of Balala Hakkula Sangham brought the issue to the notice of the district collector K Nikhila. The collector Nikhila assured to take action against the principal and promised to suspend her.
