Hyderabad: Panchayat official caught while accepting bribe
A panchayat official has been caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau while he was accepting Rs 1 lakh at the district collector office in Keesara of Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
The officer, Ravi Kumar is said to have demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a former sarpanch Eshwaraiah for clearing the audit report. While accepting Rs 1 lakh as the first installment from the sarpanch, the ACB sleuths caught Ravi Kumar red-handed.
In the last month, a Village Revenue Officer (VRO), K Shankar of Turkayamjal caught by ACB officials while taking Rs 50,000 bribe from one Muthyam Reddy. The officials said that Shankar demanded a bribe to initiate the mutation process of one acre and 29 guntas land of the Muthyam Reddy and making an entry in Pattadar Passbook.
