Hyderabad: Parts of roof plaster fall during class in Rasoolpura

There has been no renovation since the inception of Government Primary and High School Gun Bazaar, Rasoolpura, 20 years ago. The school has around 700 students.

Rasoolpura: The Class IV students of Government Primary and High School Gun Bazaar, Rasoolpura, were shocked as the patches of class roof suddenly fell during their morning class. The school staff, along with the principal, rushed to the classroom and heaved sigh of relief as no student was hurt.

Explaining about the incident, Naeem Shaikh, a social activist who works for the betterment of school, shares, "The school building is at least 20 years old. Since the inception of school, there has been no renovation. There are three to four more classrooms with similar situation, which can be risky as the roof might fall any moment.

"We have requested for help from the local corporators and MLA and the area corporator Keshava Reddy addressed the situation himself and assured us that necessary arrangement will be done," said Naeem.

The school authorities proposed for renovation time to time but in vain. The school has around 700 students and each class has around 30 to 35 students.
