Hyderabad: People head to salons to be a cut above rest
Hyderabad: Even as the Ramzan concluded on Saturday and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, people started grooming up, some of them after more than two months owing to tighter lockdown norms and devotional purpose during Ramzan.
Even though most of the youth are turning up at saloons and men's beauty parlours safety concerns in view of COVID-19 persists. "I am visiting the salon after two months for hair-cut. With the hope that this shop has all safety mechanism in view of coronavirus, I turned up here," said Syed Faheemuddin, a resident of Santoshnagar.
According to the hair stylists in Old City they were facing man force crunch as most of the migrant workers from UP and other northern States have already left. However, with available resources they are trying to satisfy their customers.
Even the youth who generally visit them after dusk started pouring in from morning hours to ensure they get groomed up and avoid evening hustle.
"It has been almost 2 months since we pulled down our shutters and recent relaxation gave a sigh of relief. We are witnessing rush for the past two days and are ensuring all safety precautions including face mask, gloves, use of sanitisers etc are adhered as per norms," said Feroz Ahmed, an owner of Taj Salon.
Starting from morning the salons are witnessing huge crowds as several people turned up for haircuts for Eid, one of the reasons is fear of closure of shops in evening hours, as part of Lockdown.
"As the people are pouring in and owing to less number of workers we are requesting them to come after some time, as salons also had to maintain the social distancing.
Earlier there were 6 workers and now there are only 2. It's being tough for us to handle the customers, as relaxation hours are till 6 pm", he added.
