Hyderabad: People throng GHMC to claim 'early bird rebate'
Hyderabad: With just four days left for claiming the five per cent discount on the payment of property tax, many were seen lined up at the Citizen's Service Centre at GHMC office, here, on Wednesday. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has provided facility of early bird rebate on property tax for financial year 2020-21 and arrears if any. The last date for payment of property tax is May 31. The GHMC officials said that commercial/non-residential properties and residential properties with yearly tax above Rs 30,000 were also eligible to avail 5 per cent early bird rebate.
The authorities have urged people to pay the taxes using any of the methods, be it at Meeseva, Citizen Service Centres at circle offices, online through GHMC website/MyGHMC app or through https://paytax.ghmc.gov.in/PT before May 31.
The property owners can also make payment to the bill collectors.
The officials said that property tax messages were sent to 8.24 lakh unpaid taxpayers on Wednesday alone. The GHMC commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar has urged people to pay the property tax to get five per cent rebate and contribute to the development of the city.
