Hyderabad: Ponguleti flays Jagan's statement on existing water awards

Hyderabad: Former MLC and Telangana BJP State Core Committee, member, Dr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, condemned the statement of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's to draw water from Srisailam Reservoir to meet the needs of Rayalaseema districts. Besides, Nellore, Prakasam districts needs are to be met by drawing water from Srisailam Reservoir at 800 ft level.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, he said, "What the AP CM said was against the existing awards, law and acts." It will make the whole south Telangana into a desert-like place and people will not tolerate this injustice", he said. Sudhakar Reddy demanded Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao call an all-party meeting to discuss the prevailing situation of Krishna Water issues related to both the Telugu states,including the recently issued GO 203 by AP. He appealed to all the public representatives, including south Telangana ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs to come forward to protect the rights of south TS projects in Krishna River waters, including drinking water scheme to Hyderabad.
