Hyderabad: Finance Minister Harish Rao has asked Osmania University registrar Gopal Reddy, OU SE and other engineering officials to complete the construction work of Siddipet PG College on a war footing basis. They replied that the girls 'hostel works are almost completed and the boys' hostel works were going on. PG College administrative building work is being completed, while lab, furniture and electrical works need to be completed, they explained. Harish ordered them to complete the works in 10 days. He warned that if there is a delay in the work, he will not hesitate to take strict action. Narsapur MLA Madan Reddy and Andol MLA Krantik Kiran, who were also present at the meeting, briefed Harish Rao about the conditions of PG Colleges in their constituencies. Speculations are rife that the college would be shifted to other places, they reported the minister.

Responding to this, the minister suggested the registrar that the colleges should be shifted to the buildings where all facilities are readily available. Andole MLA Kranti Kiran told the minister that the government has allocated four-and-a-half acres of land for the construction of PG College in Jogipet.

He requested for the funds for construction. The minister said steps would be taken to ensure that all necessary facilities would be provided for all students. Officers were ordered to keep PG colleges in the area and do not shift.
