Hyderabad: Pubs, bars to remain open till 1 am on New Year eve

Telangana government on Wednesday announced that all the wine will be opened till 12 am on New Year eve (i.e, on December 31).

Meanwhile, bars and clubs which usually wrap up the business at 12 am will remain open until 1 am. The Telangana State Prohibition and Excise Department passed the orders stating that all the pubs and bars can serve up to 1 am and should follow COVID-19 norms.

However, the government imposed a ban on New Year celebrations in the view of the new strain of coronavirus and directed all the pubs and bars to avoid all the parties. Even the parties in the apartments and gated communities are banned.

All the wine shops are already purchased extra stocks so as to not lost out on new year's eve demands.

On the other hand, drunk and drive checks will be conducted by the traffic police across the city in the view of the New Year to prevent road accidents.
