Hyderabad: Rail Minister rebuts Talasani claim of stepmotherly treatment
Hyderabad: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday slammed Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development Corporation and Cinematography for his remarks on railway budget allocation to the South Central Railway and the southern part of India in general. Piyush Goyal was in Hyderabad to lay foundation stone for development of Satellite Terminal at Charlapalli.
Before the customary inauguration, while addressing the gathering, T Srinivas Yadav pointed out that the Centre shows step-motherly treatment to Telangana and southern India and budgetary allocation is always on the higher side to north India.
In reply, the Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry said, "Rs 2,602 crore was sanctioned towards various developmental projects in Telangana in the current rail budget as against the allocation of Rs 258 crore during 2014-15, which is 10 times higher."
