Hyderabad: Rare recognition for city artist
Hyderabad: M V Ramana Reddy has become the first general council member from Telangana State at the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi. Taking immense delight in the development, artists fraternity felicitated him at College of Fine Arts, JNAFAU, on Monday night. Many wished that Telangana contemporary art needs would be promoted nation-wide and international wide, with his elevation.
Ramana Reddy was also elected unanimously for the second time as the president of Hyderabad Art Society who has brought the image of the society to higher level with his hardworking and dedication. He has been organising numerous art camps for the promotion of art with hundreds of artists.
Reddy mentioned in his speech that he would do his level best to bring youngsters of Telangana state artists to get national opportunities and that he would approach the government to revive Telangana state Lalit Kala Akademi. He also spoke about the need of regional centre in Hyderabad, which he would do his level best to take the matter to the government in opening the Regional Center.
Reddy is not only one of the most prolific sculptors but also a graphic artist, painter, muralist and writes poetry. With his highly efficient organisational skills, he has organised numerous national and international art camps and art events by involving hundreds of artists. His role during separate Telangana statehood struggle is highly admirable and recognised by the government.
