Hyderabad: Revanth Reddy arrested near KTR's 'farmhouse'
Hyderabad: Police on Monday arrested TPCC working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy when he was holding a press conference at Janwada village on the outskirts of the city.
Accompanied by Congress senior leader and former MP K Vishweshara Reddy and other Congress leaders, Revanth conducted a visit to the lands nearby the farm house owned by TRS working president and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao in the village.
The Congress leader claimed he gathered enough evidences that KTR constructed the farm house by violating the 111 GO which prohibited the construction of multi-storyed buildings.
He also alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's family members were threatening the farmers who owned lands beside the farm house if they did not give up the ownership of the lands.
Revanth demanded KTR to make public the assets particularly lands owned by the him and family members in the city. Alert police rushed to the spot and obstructed Revanth from speaking to the media and took the latter into preventive custody.
Mild tension prevailed for some time when the Congress workers jostled with police. The Congress leaders said that police were discharging their duties at the behest of KCR's family members and demanded the release of the party working president.
