Hyderabad: Roadshow held to promote Jammu & Kashmir tourism

Hyderabad: Association of Kashmir Tour Operators (AKTO) with Tourism Department of Jammu & Kashmir Government organised a roadshow in Hyderabad on Wednesday, with an aim to encourage the tour operators here to help market Jammu & Kashmir as a safe tourist destination.

Javid Bakshi, director, SKICC (Sheri Kashmir International Convention Complex), Nazir Ahmed Mir, chief patron, AKTO and Nazir Ahmed Tunda, chairman of the organising committee & the member of AKTO & department of J&K were present at the event.

According to AKTO, "Jammu & Kashmir is the crown of our great country India, Jammu & Kashmir needs no introduction, the beauty, flora and fauna of the state, its temples, Mughal Gardens, Lakes and Hill Stations make it an all-weather 12-month destination. There are rare things and unseen picturesque scenic beauty for a state in many ways. Starting with spring, the season of tulips and wild-flowers, summer (almond blossom), trekking, rafting, swimming one can enjoy the beauty of old & new tourism destinations."

Autumn when all leaves of summer greens convert to a myriad of colors gold, red and yellow, the chinars a flaming red sight followed by winter, a heaven for the snow lovers. During the above seasons, besides indulging in enjoying scenic beauty in leisure, one can visit holy sites of different religions and yatras like abode of Vishno Devi, Amarnath Yatra, visit to Hazratbal shrine, Babarishi, Chrar-e-Sharif shrine, Pakharpura shrine, Jama Masjid, Shankaracharya Temple and Hari Parbat fort just to name a few in J&K, places in J&K like Gurez, Kargil, Suchatgarh etc promote border tourism.

Water sports in Dal Lake, Walur, Manasbal, Lidder, Sindh and treks to mountain high altitude lakes like Gangbal, Tarsar – Marsartulain Lake, Kauser Nag Wilnag, Mansar and the water fall of Aharbal.
