TS Congress incharge RC Khuntia, PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikrmarka, senior leader V Hanumantha Rao and others participated in the meeting. The leaders discussed the issue of reservations and the action plan to take up protests. Addressing the media, after the meeting, Uttam said that the NDA government at the Centre and TRS government in the State have been doing injustice to the backward classes. He said that they condemn the arguments of the BJP appointed advocates in the Supreme Court on the reservations issue. He said that they were against the core philosophy of the Congress. Khuntia said that the AICC has given a call to take programmes to protect the reservations. He made it clear that if the people did not take to agitation, the backward classes would lose a lot.

Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress brought in reservations to protect the honor of Dalits and the backward classes. The BJP-led NDA government has become a threat to the reservations.

He said that the government has prevented Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao from installing the statue of Ambedkar at Panjagutta crossroads. Congress would take steps to install the statue, he added.
