Hyderabad: Senior Congress netas lobby for TPCC chief post
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leaders eyeing the TPCC chief post have begun lobbying. It may be noted that AICC In-charge for Telangana Manickam Tagore has been engrossed in this exercise for the last three days camping in Hyderabad. He took views of all senior leaders including some of the front runners to the post. Senior leaders from Forward Castes (Reddy, Brahmin), Backward Classes (Goud, Yadav, Kapu) and SC communities have expressed their interest to take up the post in their individual meeting with Tagore already.
The AICC in-charge collected views of DCC presidents and heads of various Congress affiliated bodies on Friday. It was learnt that some of the leaders had made calls to DCC presidents and requested them to recommend their name during their one-on-one meeting with Tagore.
Speculations are also doing rounds that Congress high command already made its choice on the next TPCC Chief to succeed Uttam Kumar Reddy. However, sensing that announcing name directly would lead to a dissent among other hopefuls the national party took up this opinion collection exercise, which it is doing for the first time in Telangana or in the previous combined Andhra Pradesh State.
