Hyderabad: South Central Railway braces up for monsoon
Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) is gearing up for the monsoon. In a video conference involving high ranking officials of all six divisions, SCR decided to intensify the monsoon patrolling and make action plans to monitor all identified vulnerable / sensitive locations to ensure safety of the track.
Among the other decisions, pruning tree branches particularly trees in proximity of railway tracks, installing anemometers at all the major and nominated bridges with buzzer facility, clearance of longitudinal cross drains at yards of major stations, lowering cess level is from railway level for quick drainage of water at yards of major stations were taken.
Gajanan Mallya, general manager, SCR said that liaison with State Government officials in keeping a watch of water flowing at nearby locations (like tanks etc.,) so as to get advanced information during any breach is undertaken.
