Hyderabad: Sudden downpour leaves city waterlogged
A sudden downpour accompanied by gusty winds on Tuesday evening left the city waterlogged which resulted in traffic snarls and power outages.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Bolarum in Alwal received the highest of 29.8 mm of rainfall in the city followed by Malkaram near Kapra received 26.8 mm and Medchal at 23 mm.
The GHMC commissioner Dana Kishore alerted the Disaster Response Force and other officials to ensure normalcy in the city. Meanwhile, Asifabad in Telangana recorded the highest of 42.5 mm of rainfall in the state.
On the other hand, the heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in the state till May 25. The IMD said that the temperature during the day time is going to be higher and there will be thunderstorms in the evenings.
