Techies join cops to serve the helpless

Hyderabad: Several people, especially the poor have been suffering from starving in the lockdown. Many NGOs and other social workers have come forward to do their bit to provide them the food. One amongst them is this group of Information Technology (IT) employees. They, along with the support of the administration, have distributed meals to around 26,000 poor and also provided over 9,000 ration kits.

The group consists of 10 techies who are also the volunteers of Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), helping the cops in regulating the traffic in Cyberabad. This group includes Sai Teja Katragadda, Ramanjeet Singh, Prashanth Mamidala, Srinivas Bellam, Pradeep Gadicherla, Anumod Thomas, Surendra Uplanchiwar, Vinay Vangala, Vidya Sagar Jagadeesan and Ankit Raj who have contributed funds for the supplies.

Speaking to The Hans India, Sai Teja Katragadda, a techie and social activist who is also a member of this group 'Feed the Need,' said, "During the distribution, we used to arrange funds ourselves. Later, when people got to know about our work, many of them came forward with the motive to help the poor." He further said, "As of now, we are working under the leadership of VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, MS Vijay Kumar, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Traffic, Cyberabad and Mamatha, GHMC Kukatpally Zonal Commissioner to help the Needy people."

On a daily basis, the group spends around Rs 10,000 for the distribution. The group delivers the essentials in all the areas that come under the Cyberabad circle including Madhapur, Kukatpally, Gachibowli and Shadnagar.
