Hyderabad: Three-day BioAsia event in city from tomorrow

Hyderabad: The government of Telangana will be hosting the 17th edition of BioAsia under the theme 'Today for Tomorrow' on February 17, 18, and 19 in Hyderabad. This year, the event will focus on the capabilities that Life sciences companies should invest today to thrive and create value tomorrow.

BioAsia has been playing a key role in bringing together the global industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, innovators, and investors together on one platform discussing the new opportunities and developing strategies to succeed in emerging markets like India. Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said that BioAsia has been instrumental in attracting world leaders to Hyderabad.

He also stated that BioAsia helps showcase the infrastructure in Hyderabad to the global leaders who get the first-hand experience of the ecosystem which helps them in their decision on investments. The Minister stated that the government of Telangana will provide complete assistance to the global event and also look forward to hosting the pharma majors in Hyderabad.

Over the years, BioAsia has hosted about 16,000+ partnering meetings, which help local companies expand their business globally and explore new opportunities.

This year, the event will bring together a galaxy of leaders including, Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Industries and Commerce, Dr. Carl June, University of Pennsylvania, CAR T-cell Therapy Pioneer (World's first gene-based cancer/HIV therapy), Dr. Peter Piot, Director of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Professor of Global Health, UK (Co-discoverer of the Ebola virus), Dr. Vas Narasimhan, CEO, Novartis, Switzerland, Dr. Jan Van Acker, President Emerging Markets Human Health, MSD / Merck & Co, Dilip Shanghvi, MD, Sun Pharma, Ajay Piramal, Chairman, Piramal Enterprises, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, CMD, Biocon Ltd.

The event will host a series of discussions focusing on Indian life sciences and pharma Industry, Medical Devices and Digital Health, managing global health epidemics better, advancing global health through affordable innovation and so on.
